Two ways to run it

On your server, on your PC, or both

Both editions have the same layout, themes and keyboard shortcuts. Pick the one that fits, or use both and link them.

peep web

Install it once on a Linux web server you control. Use it from any browser, on any computer or phone.

  • PHP 8.1 and SQLite. No database server, no Composer, no build step.
  • The push service keeps every mailbox connected, so new mail and rules run even when no browser is open.
  • One PIN unlocks each device for 14 days.

peep for Windows

A native Windows app for people without a web server. It connects to your mail servers directly.

  • One 5 MB program written in C++. No browser engine, no .NET, no runtimes.
  • Starts fast, stays light on memory, and keeps running in the tray.
  • Portable: unzip it, run it, carry it on a USB stick.

Linking

Your server does the fetching. Your PC does the reading.

A linked PC never logs in to your mail servers for the mailboxes it pulls from your peep server. Mailboxes you only set up on the PC keep working on their own.

Pick per mailboxTick the server mailboxes you want on this PC. Untick one later to remove just that mailbox.

One address bookContacts are shared by the web and the PC. The most recent edit wins, deletes included.

Sign a PC outLinked PCs show up in the web app under Settings → Devices, where you can unlink them.

Highlights

Built for people who live in their inbox

Push mail

New mail shows up within seconds through IMAP IDLE, with a check every minute for servers that announce late.

Rules that run on arrival

When From, To, Subject or Body contains some text: move it, mark it read, flag it. Make one straight from a message.

Search the whole folder

Address book

Imports vCard and CSV from Gmail, Outlook, AOL, Yahoo and iCloud. Contacts come first in To and Cc suggestions.

Keyboard first

J and K to move, R to reply, Del to delete, / to search. Press ? anywhere for the full list.

Private by design

A PIN on every device, passwords encrypted at rest, scripts stripped from every message, and remote images under your control.

Four themes

Dark, Classic, Grey and Light. Every message body is shown on a clean white page so newsletters look the way their senders meant.

Messages in their own window

Double-click to pop a message out. Reply, move or delete from there and the main list keeps up.

Phone layout

The web app fits a phone screen, so you can check mail from anywhere without another app.
